More zones 30km/h
Traffic accidents are not an inevitable fact of life. A minority of drivers race through our streets because they can, because there is limited infrastructure that slows them down, and because they are rarely fined or punished. The present, fictitious 30 km an hour zone in Brussels should be a true 30 km an hour zone, enhanced by smart road design. When tramlines prevent the use of speed bumps, other traffic calming measures should be employed. We will increase the number of mobile and fixed speed cameras. We will collect fines in a smart way, for example via tax returns.
